ADLER FP2 Threaded Ball Valve

The ADLER FP2 is a 2-piece, full-bore threaded ball valve used for isolation duty in small-bore utility, process and industrial piping. It is suitable where a compact stainless steel shut-off valve is required and the piping specification calls for BSP or NPT threaded ends.

Typical Applications and Suitable Media

Typical services include water, compressed air, process gases, chemical liquids, auxiliary circuits, skid-mounted packages and small-bore isolation points. The reinforced PTFE seat material and CF8M body shall be checked against the actual fluid, temperature, pressure cycling and cleaning procedure.

Variant Selection Notes

  • Select BSP or NPT threads according to the plant piping standard; the two thread forms are not interchangeable.
  • Use fire-safe execution where the line classification requires post-fire leakage limitation.
  • Use ISO 15848 Class A execution where fugitive emission control is specified.
  • Use ATEX execution in classified hazardous areas when required by the area classification study.
  • Use actuator-ready configuration when remote isolation, interlock operation or control system feedback is required.

FAQ

Can the FP2 be used for throttling?
The valve is primarily intended for isolation. Limited control duty requires review of pressure drop, cavitation risk, seat wear and actuator sizing.

What must be checked before procurement?
Confirm size, PN rating, thread type, fluid compatibility, operating temperature, certification requirements, leakage class expectations and automation requirements.

When is an extended stem required?
An extended stem is typically selected for insulated pipework, cryogenic service or installations where handwheel, lever or actuator access is restricted.
