Ball Valve PN16 - Type 150 | ICP

PN16 ICP Type 150 flanged ball valve

Two-piece, full-bore flanged ball valve for industrial isolation duties. The valve uses a split-body construction with a floating ball and is supplied in sizes DN15 to DN200. It is intended primarily for on/off service, not for continuous throttling or control-loop modulation.

Construction and materials

  • Body and body connector: EN-GJL-250 / GG25 cast iron
  • Ball: AISI 303 for DN15–DN25; AISI 304 for DN32–DN200
  • Stem: AISI 304
  • Seats and body gaskets: PTFE
  • Stem O-rings: FKM
  • Lever: carbon steel
  • Full-bore design to reduce pressure drop when fully open

Connections, standards and tests

Flanges are to EN 1092-2 / DIN 2501. Face-to-face dimensions are to EN 558-1 series 27 / DIN 3202 F18. Design references include DIN 3357 and DIN 3840. The actuator mounting interface is DIN 3337 / ISO 5211.

Pressure testing is according to EN 12266-1. The EN 10204 / 2.2 certificate states hydraulic body test at 24 kg/cm², seat test at 18 kg/cm², pneumatic seat test at 6 barg, and leakage class A.

Operating conditions and selection limits

Pressure class: PN16. The pressure-temperature curve must be checked for each duty, especially at elevated temperature where pressure derating and FKM compatibility may limit use. Indicative diagram range: -10 to 200 °C.

Suitable media include process water, closed HVAC circuits, compressed air, oils and compatible industrial liquids. For steam or thermal oil service, verify temperature, pressure, PTFE/FKM compatibility, operating cycles and maintenance access.

Variants and engineering differences

  • DN15–DN25 use an AISI 303 ball; DN32–DN200 use an AISI 304 ball.
  • Manual lever operation is standard.
  • ISO 5211 mounting allows pneumatic or electric actuation.
  • Standard sealing arrangement is PTFE seats with FKM stem O-rings; media compatibility must be confirmed before procurement.

Actuation

The valve can be fitted with pneumatic or electric actuators through the ISO 5211 interface. The technical data include actuator sizing for ADA and ASR units, based on 6 bar air supply, clean water at 16 bar and ambient temperature conditions.

Typical industrial use cases

  • Isolation of pumps, strainers, heat exchangers and process branches
  • HVAC plant rooms and closed water circuits
  • Utility air and compatible oil systems
  • Maintenance isolation where low pressure drop is required in the open position

FAQ

Can it be used for flow throttling?
Not as its main duty. It should be selected as an isolation valve.

What should be checked before ordering?
DN, PN16 rating, medium, temperature, pressure-temperature derating, PTFE/FKM compatibility, leakage requirement, ATEX/CE requirements and actuator need.

Description

Two pieces Ball Valves, Full Bore, Flanges PN16, from DN15 to DN200. Cast iron GJL250 (GG25) Body, AISI-304 Ball and PTFE seats. In addition, 2 FKM o-rings on the shaft which ensure total tightness of the valve. The valve is equipped with ISO 5211 connection to mount pneumatic or electrical actuators. The face-to-face of the valve is according with DIN 3202 F18. The valves are certified CE and ATEX.
