Comeval UNIFLOW Fig. BV2 Ball Valve

The Comeval UNIFLOW Fig. BV2 is a two-piece, split-body, floating ball valve manufactured in ASTM A351 CF8M stainless steel. It is used for on/off isolation in process lines, utility services and auxiliary industrial networks. The valve is supplied in PN 63 pressure class and is normally operated by a manual lever.

Construction

  • Body: investment cast stainless steel, ASTM A351 CF8M
  • Design: two-piece split body, floating ball
  • Seat material: PTFE
  • Connections: BSP, NPT or ISO 228-1 threaded ends
  • Nominal size range: DN8 to DN100
  • Flow direction: bidirectional service
  • Standard configuration: manual lever operation

Typical Applications

  • Industrial water and utility water networks
  • HVAC isolation duties
  • Lubrication and service-fluid lines
  • Compressed air systems
  • Industrial gas distribution, subject to leakage and compatibility checks
  • General process isolation where CF8M and PTFE are compatible with the fluid

Operating and Selection Notes

The PN 63 rating shall be checked against the actual operating pressure and temperature using the applicable pressure-temperature chart. PTFE seat capability, thermal cycling, pressure drop, fluid cleanliness and frequency of operation should be considered during valve selection.

For compressed air and gas service, seat and stem leakage should be assessed, particularly after repeated cycling or long periods in the open or closed position. The valve is intended for isolation service, not for continuous throttling or control duty.

Variants and Connection Selection

  • BSP / ISO 228-1: commonly selected for parallel threaded pipework and European utility systems.
  • NPT: used where tapered threaded connections are specified.
  • DN selection: should match line size, required bore, allowable pressure drop and maintenance accessibility.

Actuation and Sealing

The standard arrangement is lever-operated. If pneumatic or electric actuation is required, the available mounting arrangement, stem torque and cycle duty must be verified before selection.

The standard sealing arrangement uses PTFE seats. Alternative seat materials should only be specified where confirmed by the manufacturer for the temperature, pressure and chemical service.

Standards and Certifications

  • Declaration of conformity for two-piece and three-piece ball valves
  • ATEX documentation where applicable
  • EAC 010/032 references for applicable markets

FAQ

Can this valve be used for steam? Only after checking the manufacturer’s pressure-temperature limits and PTFE suitability for the steam conditions.

Is the valve suitable for throttling? No. It is primarily an isolation valve; partial opening can damage seats and increase leakage risk.

What must be checked for gas service? Stem sealing, seat tightness, pressure class, cycling frequency and media compatibility with CF8M and PTFE.
