Side-entry trunnion mounted ball valve with metal seats, designed for isolation in high-pressure, high-temperature lines or media containing solid particles. Neway specifies suitability for ASME Class 150–2500 / PN16–PN420, temperature range -46°C to +450°C, and sizes 2"–48" / DN50–DN1200.
Metal-seated construction is selected where soft seats are unsuitable due to temperature, wear, or presence of hard particles. Suitable for dirty service, catalytic residues, hot liquids, process steam, and lines where seat wear is a primary selection criterion. Metal seats provide increased resistance to abrasion and hard particle erosion.
Trunnion support reduces seat loading and operating torque, especially for large DN or high differential pressure. Intended for on/off isolation, not continuous throttling. For metal-seated applications, specify acceptable seat leakage, ball/seat material or coating, design temperature, and fire-safe or fugitive emissions requirements.
Refineries, petrochemical plants, power units, hot chemical service, low-to-medium concentration slurry, high-pressure lines, and services where temperature or wear precludes PTFE, RPTFE, or other soft seats.
When to select metal-seated over soft-seated Neway valves?
When temperature, solids, or wear exceed soft seat limits.
