Neway Cast Steel – Swing Check Valve

The Neway Cast Steel swing check valve is designed for industrial liquid and gas pipelines where mechanical prevention of reverse flow is required without the use of an actuator. The disc opens under forward flow and closes automatically when differential pressure decreases or reverses.

Design and Standards

Cast carbon steel check valves are supplied to API 594 design with bolted cover and swivel type disc. Available in Class 150, 300, 600, 900, 1500, and 2500. Face-to-face and end-to-end dimensions per BS EN 558, BS EN 12627, ASME B16.10, ISO 5752. Flanges per ASME B16.5 / B16.47, BW ends per ASME B16.25, pressure testing per API 598 or BS EN 12266.

Materials and Trim

Available for standard, low temperature, high temperature, stainless, and sour service. Typical materials: ASTM A216 WCB, ASTM A352 LCC, ASTM A217 WC9, ASTM A351 CF8M. Seats: A105 or F316 with Stellite overlay as required.

Applications

Suitable for steam, boiler feedwater, condensate, hydrocarbons, process gases, and thermal fluids, subject to pressure-temperature rating, body, and trim selection. For pump discharge or large diameters, verify minimum flow for stable disc operation.

Operation Options

For transient conditions, damping box or equilibrium hammer assemblies can be specified to control disc closure speed.

FAQ

Is an actuator required? No. Operation is flow-actuated and pressure-reversed.
When is special consideration needed? At low flow, large diameters, pump discharge, or risk of water hammer.
