Comeval UNIFLOW Fig. 3S – Cast Swing Check Valve

The Comeval UNIFLOW Fig. 3S is a swing check valve with a hinged disc and metal seat, designed to prevent reverse flow in process piping. Operation is automatic, actuated by the process medium without external actuator. The 3S construction is cast, with a bolted cover and internal access for seat/disc inspection and maintenance.

Variants and Pressure Ratings

  • Standard: ANSI
  • End Connections: RF, RTJ, BW
  • Pressure Classes (3S/31 series): Class 150, 300, 600, 900, 1500, 2500
  • Size Range: DN50–DN900 / 2"–36"
  • Face-to-face: ASME B16.10
  • Flanges: ASME B16.5 up to 24", ASME B16.47 above 24"
  • BW ends: ASME B16.25

Materials and Trim

Available body materials: ASTM A216 WCB, ASTM A352 LCB, ASTM A217 WC1 / WC6 / WC9 / C5 / C12, and stainless options CF8, CF8M, CF3, CF3M. Seat and disc surfaces can be supplied in 13Cr or hard facing. Bolting options available for NACE MR0175 compliance.

Standards and Testing

Design in accordance with API 6D / BS 1868, marking per MSS SP-25, and testing per API 598. PED 2014/68/EU compliant, with available Comeval PED Module H and EAC certification.

Applications

Suitable for steam, water, oil, petroleum products, natural gas, air, compressed air, and other fluids or gases compatible with construction materials. Selection should be based on pressure-temperature rating per ASME B16.34, body material, trim, corrosion, and seat leakage requirements.

Installation

Install in horizontal lines with cover upwards, or in vertical lines with upward flow. Recommend minimum 6×DN downstream from pumps, elbows, or reducers, and 2×DN upstream from flow disturbances. For steam, gradual preheating and condensate drainage are required to prevent water hammer.

FAQ

When is Fig. 3S selected?
For ANSI lines requiring a cast swing check valve with metal seat and RF/RTJ/BW end options.

What should be checked before ordering?
Pressure class, NPS/DN, end connections, body material, trim, temperature, process fluid, and minimum flow for stable disc opening.
