Mud Box Cast Iron acc. to DIN
Marine Cast Iron Sediment Basket Strainer DIN
Basket strainer for seawater filtration in marine piping systems, manufactured to DIN 87151E, face-to-face per DIN 87151, flanges EN 1092-2 PN10, design pressure PN4, and tested according to EN 12266-1. Available in sizes DN40 to DN400.
Network Application
Installed in seawater service, cooling water, ballast, or auxiliary engine room circuits, upstream of pumps, heat exchangers, coolers, and equipment sensitive to sand, rust, organic debris, or solid particles.
Straight-through design is used where no change of flow direction is required at the filtration point. For installations with 90° flow change, an angle type basket should be considered.
Construction Materials
- Body: Cast Iron GG25
- Cover: Cast Iron GG25
- Screen Element: Stainless Steel SS316
- Gasket: NBR
- Bolts: Stainless Steel A2-70
- Drain Plug: Brass
- Lifting Lug: Steel
Screen Element
Mesh specification: 5 mm square for DN40–DN65, 8 mm square for DN80–DN400, with 4 mm hole spacing. Selection should consider flow rate, allowable pressure drop, and solids accumulation rate.
Selection Criteria & Maintenance
Prior to procurement, verify DN, PN10 flanges, operating pressure (PN4), cover accessibility, gasket material, and drain plug location.
During inspection, check differential pressure, screen cleanliness, cover tightness, NBR gasket condition, GG25 body corrosion, and brass drain plug operation.
