Mud Box Angle Type Cast Iron acc. to DIN
Marine Angle Sediment Basket DIN
Angle sediment basket for seawater filtration in marine piping systems. Manufactured according to DIN 87151E, face-to-face per DIN 87151, flanges per EN 1092-2 PN10, design pressure PN4, and tested per EN 12266-1.
Function in Piping Network
Installed in seawater service, cooling water, ballast, or auxiliary engine room circuits, upstream of pumps, heat exchangers, coolers, or control valves. The angle configuration combines flow direction change and solids retention in a single component.
Construction Materials
- Body: Cast Iron GG25
- Cover: Cast Iron GG25
- Screen Element: Stainless Steel SS316
- Gasket: NBR
- Bolts: Stainless Steel A2-70
- Drain Plug: Brass
Screen Element
Mesh size: 5 mm square for DN40–DN65, 8 mm square for DN80–DN400, with 4 mm spacing between holes. DN and mesh selection must be based on flow rate, allowable pressure drop, and expected solids content in seawater.
Selection Criteria
Verify DN, EN 1092-2 PN10 flanges, system pressure vs. PN4 rating, cleaning access, cover accessibility, NBR gasket compatibility, and alignment with vessel P&ID prior to procurement.
Maintenance
Inspection should include differential pressure, SS316 screen cleanliness, cover tightness, NBR gasket condition, GG25 body corrosion, and brass drain plug operation.
FAQ
Is this an isolation valve?
