Basket Strainer NORIS Bauform 150
The NORIS Bauform 150 is a flanged basket strainer designed for mechanical debris retention in industrial pipelines. It is typically installed upstream of sensitive equipment such as oval-wheel flowmeters, pumps, turbines, and process instrumentation. The basket screen offers a large open area, which minimizes initial pressure drop and extends intervals between cleaning cycles.
Operating Conditions
- Connection: Flanged.
- Pressure class: PN6 to PN40.
- Operating pressure: 6 / 40 bar, depending on version.
- Sizes: DN15 to DN250.
- Available options: ANSI flanges, heating jacket, carbon steel version, two G ¼" threaded ports for differential pressure measurement.
Materials and Sealing
Body: WN 1.4408 / 1.4571. Cover: WN 1.4571 / 1.4408. Screen: WN 1.4571 / 1.4401, with fine mesh options from 0.05 to 5.0 mm. Bolts and nuts: A4-70. Cover sealing is by graphite or alternative material upon request.
Selection in Process Applications
Selection is based on DN, PN, flow rate, allowable Δp, mesh opening, and network contamination rate. The two G ¼" ports allow installation of a differential pressure gauge, supporting maintenance planning before blockage affects pumps or meters.
Comparison with Y-Strainer
Compared to a Y-strainer, the Bauform 150 features a basket screen with higher solids holding capacity. It is suitable for lines with increased particulate load or where pressure drop monitoring is required. For small diameters or limited space, a Y-strainer may be a simpler choice.
FAQ
Can it be fitted with an actuator?
No. This is a passive in-line filter.
When is a heating jacket used?
For viscous or temperature-sensitive media, where cooling at the filter body may impede flow.
Are standards referenced in the datasheet?
The available technical datasheet does not specify test standards or certifications.
