NORIS Bauform 148 Start-Up Strainer

The NORIS Bauform 148 is a cap-type (hat) start-up strainer designed for installation between flanges. It is primarily used during commissioning or after piping works to retain burrs, rust, welding residues, and particulates upstream of instrumentation, control valves, pumps, and sensitive assemblies.

For applications with frequent particulate load, a permanent Y-strainer or basket strainer with in-line maintenance capability is recommended.

Selection Criteria

Selection is based on DN, PN, available face-to-face length, mesh size, allowable differential pressure, and expected debris load during commissioning. For pump suction, NPSH must be checked, as a clogged screen increases pressure drop.
