Straight TEE Strainers Conaco Type 407
Conaco Type 407 are straight TEE line strainers designed for installation in industrial piping systems with straight-through flow and lateral access to the screen element. Typical applications include upstream of pumps, control valves, turbines, flow meters, and process equipment where solid retention is required without altering the main pipeline geometry.
Construction Range
- Type: TEE Strainer Type 407.
- Ends: flanged or butt-welded.
- Cover: flanged, providing access to the internal screen.
- ANSI rating: Class 150 to Class 2500.
- Sizes: 2″ to 60″ and above.
Materials
Available in carbon steel, low carbon steel, alloy steel, high alloy steel, and special alloys. Material selection is based on piping class, temperature, fluid corrosivity, welding requirements, and project specifications.
Screen and Special Configurations
Screens can be double or triple layer, mesh on perforated plate, or mesh-on-mesh. Magnetic assemblies are available for ferrous particle retention. Standard bath-tub or custom screen shapes can be provided.
Drain, Lining, and Coating
Drain options include nipples, flanges, valves, or plugs. For corrosive media or specific environmental conditions, epoxy lining, cladding, rubberizing, and project-specific coating systems are available.
Selection Criteria
Selection is based on ANSI class, diameter, flow rate, allowable pressure drop, mesh size, open area, and access for maintenance. For pump suction, verify Δp increase due to clogging relative to available NPSH.
FAQ
When is a straight TEE selected over a Y-strainer?
When pipeline layout requires straight-through flow and lateral access to the screen.
Can it be fitted with an actuator?
No. This is a passive in-line strainer.
When is a magnetic assembly required?
For systems with ferrous particles from corrosion, welding, or equipment wear.
