Tee Blu Zac FTEE Strainers

Blu Zac FTEE are permanent Tee-type strainers designed for in-line flow, with the filter element oriented perpendicular to the process stream. Typical applications include water, seawater, hydrocarbons, air, gases, and chemical products, subject to material and temperature compatibility verification.

Construction and Connections

  • Sizes: 2″ to 24″
  • Connections: Butt-weld per ANSI B16.25 or flanged ANSI B16.5
  • Design: ASME VIII Div.1; other codes (e.g., ASME B31.3) available on request
  • Cover: bolted, hinge, davit, or clamp connectors
  • Drain: NPT or flanged with blind
  • Basket: plane, type V, or type W

Materials and Sealing

Body options: ASTM A234 WPB, ASTM A420 WPL6, ASTM A403 WP304, or ASTM A403 WP316. Basket: AISI 304 or AISI 316. Cover sealing: spiral wound gasket (graphite and W-316), with inner ring of 316 or carbon steel.

Process Line Selection

Selection is based on NPS, flange class, flow rate, mesh size, allowable Δp, and cover accessibility. The open filter area is specified at >200% of inlet cross-section, relevant for clean and dirty pressure drop calculations.

Maintenance

Maintenance is annual or when pressure drop exceeds expected limits. Monthly inspection is recommended. Before opening the cover, isolate, depressurize, remove basket, clean, check for deformation, and replace gasket as needed.

FAQ

Can it be fitted with an actuator?
No. This is a passive in-line strainer.

When select Tee vs Y-strainer?
When straight-through flow, side basket access, and larger filter area are required.

When is davit or hinge required?
For large covers where mechanical assistance is necessary for safe removal.

Description

Permanent filter, straight line, suitable for filtering fluids in either the liquid state (water, seawater, petroleum and its derivatives) or the gaseous state (gas, air, chemical products) through a perforated plate filter element placed perpendicular to the direction of flow.

Obtained from an extruded or welded T-joint, it ensures a large surface area for flow and thus offers a high filtration capacity with a low loss of capacity even at high speeds.

The standard equipment includes a screen suitable for high pressures, which is easy to maintain and replace and capable of filtration of more than 200% of the inlet area.
