Duplex Basket Filters Blu Zac FDPX

Blu Zac FDPX are permanent duplex basket filters with two chambers, designed for pipelines where basket cleaning must not require a full system shutdown. Flow is diverted from the online to the standby chamber via an integrated valve system operated by a single lever.

Materials

Body materials: ASTM A106 Gr.B, ASTM A333 Gr.6, ASTM A312 TP304, or ASTM A312 TP316. Flanges: ASTM A105, A350 LF2, A182 F304, or A182 F316. Basket mesh: AISI 316, with basket ring in ASTM A516 or ASTM A240, depending on body material.

Operation and Selection

Open filter area is specified as over 300% of inlet cross-section. Selection should consider flow rate, mesh size, clean/dirty differential pressure, and available NPSH at pump suction.

Applications

Used in water, seawater (with suitable materials), fuel, chemical, utility, and continuous process lines. Suitable upstream of pumps, control valves, flow meters, heat exchangers, and equipment sensitive to solid contamination.

Maintenance

Maintenance is annual or when pressure drop exceeds specified limits. Technical documentation recommends monthly inspection, chamber isolation, basket removal, cleaning, deformation check, body cleaning, gasket replacement, and leak check on restart.

FAQ

When is duplex preferred over mono basket?
When basket cleaning must occur while the line remains operational via the second chamber.

Is actuator available?
Standard changeover uses integrated valve system with lever. Automation is possible if specified for the application.

When is a pressure gauge required?
When cleaning is based on actual differential pressure rather than a fixed time interval.

Description

Permanent filter type, comprising two chambers that permit the filter to function continuously even during maintenance of the basket, allowing the operator to clean the basket without necessarily shutting down the entire line.

It offers a larger filtering surface area ensuring minimal loss of pressure even at high flow speeds, as well as a greater capacity for accumulating particulate. The transition between online and standby can be effected using an integrated valve system controlled by a single lever.

The standard equipment includes a screen suitable for high pressures, which is easy to maintain and replace and capable of filtration of more than 300% of the inlet area.
