Valfonta 260 – Steam/Liquid Injector for Tank Heating

The Valfonta 260 is a direct steam injector designed for in-tank heating of liquids. Steam enters the injector, inducing liquid flow through body orifices and mixing with the steam, which promotes internal recirculation and uniform temperature distribution within the vessel. The unit contains no moving parts and is not intended for use as an isolation or control valve.

Selection and Installation

Selection is based on required thermal load, available saturated steam pressure, tank volume, initial liquid temperature, and acceptable condensate addition. For higher thermal demand, multiple injectors can be installed in parallel.

Install horizontally, low in the tank and along its length, so the discharge jet assists liquid circulation. Technical documentation specifies L distances from 200 to 1,300 mm (per steam pressure and size) and H distance 100–200 mm from tank bottom.

Applications

Used in water tanks, wash baths, process vessels, open basins, and auxiliary liquid heating circuits where direct steam contact is permissible.

Maintenance

Inspection focuses on the cleanliness of suction/discharge orifices, scale deposits, and steam pressure. Increased noise may indicate blockage or excessive steam pressure.
