NORIS Model 912-A – High-Pressure Flow Indicator with ANSI Flanges
The NORIS 912-A is a dual-sided flow indicator designed for visual inspection of liquids and gases in high-pressure lines. The 912-A version is applicable for flanged connections using ANSI standards, up to 1500 lbs, when piping specifications are not based on DIN PN.
Operating Conditions
- Operating Pressure: up to 160 bar
- Temperature with borosilicate glass: up to 280 °C
- Temperature with quartz glass: up to 500 °C
- Installation: horizontal or vertical
- Connection: ANSI flanges up to 1500 lbs
- Alternative connection series: DIN PN160, butt weld ends, female-threaded
- Construction length: depends on operating pressure and nominal diameter
Materials and Construction
The technical sheet specifies that all weldable materials can be used. Material selection should be project-specific, based on:
- fluid and corrosiveness
- design pressure and temperature
- piping material and welding process
- requirement for NACE, low temperature, or special certification, as specified by the project
Glass Selection
Borosilicate glass is suitable for applications up to 280 °C. For higher process temperatures, quartz glass allows use up to 500 °C. Selection should consider pressure, thermal shocks, line cleaning, and chemical compatibility of seals.
Applications
Suitable for chemical processes, high-pressure gases, hot liquids, high-temperature auxiliary circuits, and lines requiring local verification of filling, bubbles, or flow. It is not a flow meter and does not provide a control signal.
Options
Available with heating jacket and observation lighting. EN 10204 type 2.2 or 3.1 certificates are optional. No actuator is provided; it is a passive visual monitoring component.
