NORIS Bauform 880-SOW – Flow Indicator with Socket Weld Ends

The NORIS 880-SOW is a straight-through, dual-sided flow indicator with pipe socket weld connections, designed for local visual monitoring of liquids and gases in pipelines. This series supports both horizontal and vertical installations, with mandatory flow direction verification during setup.

Materials and Sealing

The body and covers are available in cast steel GS-C25 / 1.0619 / GP240GH or stainless steel WN 1.4408. Bolts are galvanized 4.6 / 5.6 for cast steel or A4-70 for stainless steel versions. Observation glasses are borosilicate per DIN 7080 or soda-lime per DIN 8902. Standard sealing is graphite, with other materials available upon fluid compatibility check.

Application Field

The 880-SOW is selected for welded pipelines where visual flow confirmation is required without flanged connections. It is used in process water, condensate, gases, auxiliary networks, and chemical fluids compatible with 1.0619 or 1.4408.

Difference from NORIS 880-S

The 880-S features butt weld ends, while the 880-SOW uses socket weld connections. Selection depends on piping standards, DN, pressure, and welding procedures specified by the project.

Certificates and Ordering

Optional certificates per EN 10204 type 2.2 or 3.1 are available. Ordering requires DN, PN, body material, glass type, temperature, fluid, sealing, and potential need for rotor, flap, or lighting.
