NORIS Bauform 111-S – Dual-Sided Flow Indicator with Butt Weld Ends
The NORIS 111-S is a straight-through, dual-sided flow indicator with butt weld ends, designed for visual inspection of filling and flow in pipelines. Its body geometry minimizes residual liquid retention when installed horizontally, beneficial for discharge, cleaning, or product change lines.

Materials and Sealing
The body is stainless steel WNr 1.4404. Covers are available in galvanized steel for the 111-S-VS version or stainless steel for the 111-S-VV version. Bolts are DIN 912 class 8.8 or A4-70. Observation glasses are borosilicate per DIN 7080 or soda-lime per DIN 8902. Standard sealing is graphite, with other materials available after fluid and temperature assessment.
Application Scope
Type 111-S is selected for welded pipelines where regular disassembly via flanges is not required. It is used in process water, auxiliary networks, compatible chemical fluids, and lines where local confirmation of filling, flow, bubbles, or fluid color change is needed.
Difference from NORIS 111
The main difference is the connection. The 111 is flanged, while the 111-S has welded ends. Selection depends on piping standards, disassembly needs, and cleaning requirements.
FAQ
Does it accept an actuator?
No. It is a passive flow indicator. The available electrical option is for lighting, not an actuator.
What should be specified in the order?
DN/outer pipe diameter, temperature, cover material, glass type, sealing, fluid, and lighting requirement.
