NORIS Bauform 108-S – Dual-Sided Flow Indicator with Welded Ends

The NORIS 108-S is a straight dual-sided flow indicator with butt weld ends. It is used for visual inspection of filling and flow in pipelines without electrical signals or measuring instruments. Installation can be adapted to the line layout, maintaining the flow direction.

Materials and Sealing

Basic versions include 108-S-VV, 108-S-VS, and 108-S-St. The body is available in 1.4404 or RSt 37-2, while covers and bolts are selected in stainless or carbon steel. Glass options are borosilicate per DIN 7080 or soda-lime per DIN 8902. Standard sealing is graphite, with other materials available upon compatibility check.

Application Selection

Type 108-S is chosen when the pipeline is of welded construction and flange disassembly is not required. Suitable for process water, auxiliary circuits, compatible chemical liquids, gases, and lines where immediate local observation of fluid status is necessary.

Difference from 108 and 108-B

Compared to 108, the 108-S lacks a standard PN16 flanged connection but has welded ends. Compared to 108-B, it does not use loose PN10 flanges. Selection depends on piping standard, disassembly needs, and operating pressure.

Does it accept an actuator?
No. It is a passive flow indicator. Available options include lighting or internal visual indication with spinner/flap.
