Ceiling-Mounted Safety Shower Valve B-Safety BR 024 995

Activation valve for ceiling-mounted emergency safety showers with exposed piping. Assembly includes a ¾” ball valve on a ceiling flange, operated via a stainless steel pull rod and black plastic spherical handle. Non-self-closing operation: flow remains open until manually reset. Designed for process environments requiring reliable manual actuation and clear status indication.

Technical Data

  • Code: BR 024 995
  • Installation: ceiling, exposed piping
  • Water connection: ¾” female
  • Operating pressure: 1–5 bar
  • Flow rate: ≥60 l/min at 1 bar dynamic pressure
  • Opening angle: 90°
  • Dimensions: 1350 × 50 × 80 mm
  • Pull rod length: 1350 mm
  • Handle lower edge height: 0–1750 mm from floor

Construction Materials

Ceiling flange, ball valve, lever, and rod support: stainless steel AISI 316. Pull rod: AISI 304. Polished finish. “OPEN” sign: orange, photoluminescent per DIN 67510. Suitable for aggressive environments and chemical compatibility requirements.

Applications

Used in industrial emergency showers where water supply is ceiling-fed or wall-mounted valve bodies are not feasible. Typical installations: chemical production, laboratories, chemical filling/discharge areas, technical corridors, and industrial facilities with fixed safety water networks.

Standards and Installation

Referenced standards: ANSI Z358.1-2014, DIN EN 15154-5:2019, DIN 1988, DIN EN 1717, DIN-DVGW test/certification, GOST-R. DIN EN 15154-2 listed for compliance; installation guidelines reference DIN EN 15154-1 for self-draining between valve and shower head. Confirm requirements in project technical submission.

Comparison with Wall-Mounted BR 022 / BR 023

BR 024 995 is selected when actuation must be transferred from ceiling to operator level via pull rod. Wall-mounted variants are preferred when piping and control point are wall-based. Selection depends on piping layout and access requirements.

FAQ

Does it close automatically?
No. Valve remains open until manually closed.

What should be checked before selection?
Available pressure, minimum 60 l/min flow, ceiling height, final handle position, and ability to drain piping downstream of the valve.

Product description

The variable rod operated safety shower valve for ceiling mounting consists of a robust ball valve with drinking water approval mounted in a ceiling flange. The volume flow is at least 60 liters / minute at 1 bar flow pressure. An additional holder ensures positioning of the pull rod. The pull rod with a plastic ball handle has a length of 1350 mm.

Mounting-Instructions:

For an installation in accordance with EN 15154-1:2006 it must be ensured, that the safety shower installation is self-draining between valve and shower head.
