OMC DP5-R – Pneumatic Gauge Pressure Transmitter with Remote Seal

The DP5-R is a pneumatic gauge pressure transmitter designed for applications where the sensing element must be isolated from the process medium. The bellows capsule is connected to a remote diaphragm seal via a capillary tube, forming a welded, vacuum-filled system. The transmission unit converts the measured force into a pneumatic signal using a flapper-nozzle relay and feedback bellows.

Measuring Ranges

  • Bellows A: span 1.7–17 bar, range -1 to +25 bar
  • Bellows B: span 3.5–35 bar, range -1 to +50 bar
  • Bellows C: span 7–70 bar, range -1 to +100 bar
  • Bellows D: span 14–140 bar, range -1 to +200 bar
  • Overrange limit: 35 / 70 / 140 / 280 bar per bellows version

Materials and Options

Body available in A216 WCC galvanized carbon steel or AISI 316L / A351 CF3M. Bellows in AISI 316L or Monel. Seals in PTFE or Viton. Body bolts: high tensile carbon steel 10.9, AISI 316 Class A4-70 per ISO 3506, or 17-4PH per NACE MR0175.

Applications

Suitable for pressure measurement in liquids, steam, gases, or air, transmitting signals to pneumatic indicators, recorders, or controllers. The remote seal with capillary is used when the transmitter must be separated from hot, contaminated, viscous, or corrosive media. ATEX 2014/34/EU version available for Gas Zone 1 / Dust Zone 21.

FAQ

When to select DP5-R over DP5-H?
Use DP5-R for gauge pressure measurement requiring a remote seal with capillary.

Does it support zero elevation/suppression?
Yes, zero elevation up to 1 bar and zero suppression up to 186 bar, depending on bellows type.

Datasheet and documents

Description

The DP5-R works on the force balance principle and consists of two main units: The measuring unit which detects the pressure variation and consists of two forged bodies and a bellows. The transmission unit converts the differential force applied to the measuring element into a proportional output pneumatic signal. The output pressure, generated by a flapper nozzle relay, feeds the feedback bellows with a rising pressure until the balance between bellows force and measuring element is reached. The whole transmission unit is contained within a water-resistant housing.
