STRIKO G2 / LPG2 Graphite Rupture Disks

The STRIKO G2 / LPG2 series consists of flat rupture disks manufactured from graphite impregnated with phenolic resin. These are non-reclosing pressure relief devices, intended for use in pipelines and vessels where the process media require enhanced chemical resistance. The LPG2 variant is designed for lower burst pressures.

Technical Data

  • Disk Material: Phenolic resin impregnated graphite
  • Nominal Sizes: DN 25 to DN 400
  • Burst Pressure Range: 0.07 to 28 bar(g)
  • Working Ratio: 80%
  • Burst Tolerance: from ±10%
  • Operating Temperature: -50°C to +180°C
  • Holder: HG2 in graphite, stainless steel, or with PTFE liner
  • Vacuum Support: optional
  • Burst Indication / Leakage Sensor: combinable

Application Scope

G2 / LPG2 disks are selected for chemical lines, tanks, scrubbers, reactors, and piping with corrosive gases or liquids. Graphite is specified when stainless steels or standard alloys are unsuitable due to chemical compatibility. Selection should consider temperature, operating and burst pressure, vacuum conditions, flange material, and net relief area.

Holder and Sealing

The HG2 holder provides controlled seating for the flat disk. Available in graphite, stainless steel 1.4571, special alloys (Hastelloy, Inconel), and with PTFE liner on the process side. Holder selection affects media compatibility, mechanical support, and flange sealing integrity.

Standards and Certifications

STRIKO is certified to ISO 9001:2015 for rupture disk design and production. Quality assurance system complies with PED 2014/68/EU, Module D for graphite and metal disks.

FAQ

Is the disk replaced after activation?
Yes, rupture disks are single-use components.

When is vacuum support required?
Required in applications with vacuum, cyclic loading, or potential backpressure on the downstream side.

Can electrical monitoring be implemented?
Yes, with a burst indicator or leakage sensor on the downstream side.

Description
