KITO DS/o Pressure Relief Valve, Type C 8.2 N

The KITO DS/o C 8.2 N is an overpressure relief valve designed for large storage tanks. It is installed on tank vent lines to provide controlled venting of gases or vapors when internal pressure exceeds the setpoint. This valve is not an explosion-proof device and does not provide protection against deflagration or stabilized flame transmission.

Application Scope

Type C 8.2 N is selected where high venting capacities are required at low set pressures. Suitable for tanks storing non-flammable or non-hazardous gases/vapors, or in installations where explosion protection is managed by separate equipment.

Typical applications:

• large atmospheric storage tanks,
• chemical and industrial storage tanks,
• breather systems requiring vapor loss minimization,
• installations where ATEX certification is not required for the valve.

Sizes and Setpoints

Available in nominal diameters DN 300 to DN 700 with PN 10 flanges. Optional ASME B16.5 Class 150 RF connections from 12" to 28".

Indicative setpoint ranges:

• DN 300 / 350 / 400: 15–70 mbar
• DN 500: 20–60 mbar
• DN 600: 20–50 mbar
• DN 700: setpoint on technical review

Construction Materials

Standard configuration:

• body and seat: carbon steel / stainless 1.4571,
• valve spindle: stainless 1.4571,
• weight: stainless 1.4571,
• sealing: NBR, optional Viton or PTFE,
• weather hood: carbon steel, optional stainless 1.4301,
• protective mesh: stainless 1.4301 or 1.4571.

Flow Calculation

Flow curves are based on air density 1.29 kg/m³ at 273 K and atmospheric pressure. Rated flows are achieved with 40% accumulation above set pressure, per DIN 4119. For lower permissible overpressure, consult manufacturer for correction factors.

Type C 8.2 N is supplied per technical datasheet without EC certificate and without CE marking.
