Valfonta VD Direct-Acting Pressure Reducer

The Valfonta VD is a self-acting globe-type pressure reducer with a single seat, controlled via a piston. Downstream pressure is mechanically regulated by a spring and compensation system, requiring no external energy or pulse line. The valve is designed for stabilizing outlet pressure in liquids, compressed air, and neutral gases.

Technical Specifications

  • DN15–DN100.
  • Connections: EN/DIN or ANSI flanges, BSP/NPT threads up to 2”.
  • Classes: PN16–PN40, ANSI Class 150/300.
  • Maximum inlet pressure: 40 barg.
  • Adjustment range: 1.5–16 barg, with a typical range of 1.5–8 barg; product page states 1.5–12 barg.
  • Kvs: 3.5–115 m³/h, depending on DN.
  • Maximum temperature: 80°C with NBR, 125°C with EPDM, 150°C with Viton.

Materials and Sealing

Body available in GGG40.3, bronze, WCB/GSC25N, or stainless steel CF3M/AISI 316L. Internal parts are stainless steel AISI 316L, with optional bronze trim. Seals are chosen based on temperature and fluid: NBR, EPDM, Viton, or graphite PTFE in specific areas.

Applications

Suitable for water networks, industrial fluids, waste installations, compressed air, sprinklers, fuel-oil, and auxiliary process circuits. Kvs up to 115 m³/h allows use in medium flow rates where smaller PRV types are insufficient.

Installation and Selection

Recommended pipeline cleaning, upstream filter, inlet/outlet gauges, isolation valves, downstream safety valve, and horizontal installation with flow direction according to the body. Selection requires p1, p2, flow rate, medium, temperature, DN, Kvs, body material, and sealing material.
