Miyawaki REC20 Direct-Acting Steam Pressure Reducing Valve
The Miyawaki REC20 is a self-operated steam pressure reducing valve, requiring no external energy or impulse line. Downstream pressure is detected in the internal control chamber, directly adjusting the valve opening. The design features a piston actuator with an O-ring, eliminating the need for a diaphragm.

Downstream Pressure Ranges
Primary downstream pressure ranges are 0.05–0.1 / 0.1–0.16 / 0.16–0.25 / 0.25–0.4 / 0.4–0.63 / 0.63–1.0 / 1.0–1.6 MPa. Pressures below 0.05 MPa or above 1.6 MPa require technical evaluation for spring selection and sizing.
Difference from RE20
The REC20 is the stainless steel version for steam, with a 1.4408 body and PN40 rating. It is chosen over the RE20 when stainless steel construction is needed, or for higher resistance in corrosive environments and material specifications for cleaner industrial installations.
Applications
Suitable for medium and high steam flow rates, pressure reduction stations in food/beverage, chemical and petrochemical processes, marine applications, compact steam equipment, and lines requiring high reduction ratios without pilot control.
Selection
Sizing requires p1, p2, steam flow rate, temperature, DN, Kvs, flange PN, leakage requirement, and reduction ratio check. For ratios above 25:1, consider two-stage pressure reduction.
