Pneumatic Controller / Transmitter OMC Series 80

The OMC Series 80 is a pneumatic indicating controller or transmitter designed for temperature and pressure control in industrial processes involving liquids, gases, or steam. The measured value is displayed on the scale, compared to the set point, and a pneumatic signal is generated for the control valve. Available control modes include ON-OFF, P, P+I, and P+I+D.

Control Loop Operation

The instrument can operate as:

• pressure or temperature controller with local indication,
• pneumatic transmitter with 3–15 psi / 0.2–1 bar output,
• receiver controller with 3–15 psi / 0.2–1 bar input,
• final control element unit, typically for pneumatic valves.

The 3–15 psi output covers most standard pneumatic control valves. For actuators requiring higher pilot pressure, a 6–30 psi / 0.4–2 bar option is available.

Materials and Sensors

For temperature measurement, nitrogen-filled capillary sensors (2 m) with ASTM A240 Type 316L stainless steel are available. For pressure, Bourdon tubes or low-pressure elements are selected based on the required range.

Installation and Maintenance

Instrument air quality directly affects control stability. A filter-regulator and condensate drain are required upstream. Signal line leaks can cause offset; excessive valve sizing or friction may induce oscillations.

Standards / Versions

Versions are available per ATEX 2014/34/EU for Zone 1 (gases) and Zone 21 (dust). Manufacturing is in accordance with ISO 9001.
