Genebre 2234N – Piston Check Valve Class 800 NPT

The Genebre 2234N is a forged piston check valve designed for high-pressure pipelines with threaded NPT ends in accordance with ASME B1.20.1. Operation is based on differential fluid pressure and a return spring, with no actuator required. Installation direction is indicated by the flow arrow on the body.

Operating Limits & Sizes

Maximum working pressure: 140 bar. Temperature range: -29°C to +420°C. Available sizes: 1/2" to 2". Kv values: 1.04 to 14.7 m³/h depending on size; use for pressure drop calculations. Opening pressure: approx. 37–75 mbar (size and flow orientation dependent).

Applications

Suitable for steam, water, condensate, thermal fluids, oils, and compatible industrial media, provided compatibility with A105N, F6a, Stellite, and graphite is confirmed. For corrosive or chloride-containing fluids, metallurgical review is required.

Installation / Maintenance

Piping must be cleaned prior to commissioning; weld debris or solids may cause seat leakage. Not recommended for slurries or fluids with solids prone to cavity deposition. For threaded installation, do not disassemble the valve; tighten using the central body, avoiding excessive torque.

When is Class 800 selected? When lower pressure-temperature ratings do not meet design conditions.
Is it repairable? The manual states repair is generally not cost-effective; replacement is recommended.
