Brandoni Serie 05 – Spring-Loaded Check Valve

The Brandoni Serie 05 is a spring-loaded check valve with a body made from grey cast iron EN-GJL-250. It is designed to prevent reverse flow in water distribution, HVAC systems, pump stations, fire protection, compressed air, oils, and hydrocarbons. Not suitable for steam service.

Variants and Connections

F5 Flanged: DN50–DN300, flanges to EN 1092 PN16.
T5 Threaded F/F: DN50–DN100, ISO 228-1 threads.
Installation possible in horizontal or vertical pipelines. Can be used as a foot valve with appropriate strainer basket.

Materials and Sealing Options

Body: EN-GJL-250. Internal components vary by DN and version: brass, cast iron, ductile iron, or AISI 304. Spring: stainless steel. Sealing materials available: NBR, FKM/Viton®, and EPDM (potable water grade).

Operating Temperature and Pressure

NBR: -10 to +100°C.
FKM: -10 to +150°C, short-term up to +170°C depending on conditions.
EPDM (potable water): -10 to +70°C.
Maximum pressure: 16 bar for water and non-hazardous liquids; pressure rating decreases with temperature and fluid group.

Standards and Certifications

Complies with PED 2014/68/EU and D.M. 174. Reference standards: EN 12516, EN 12334, EN 19, EN 12266, EN 1092 / ISO 7005, ISO 228-1. Potable water versions available with WRAS and ACS approvals.

Selection Considerations

Seal selection is based on media and temperature: NBR for water and general use, FKM for higher temperatures or compatible oils, EPDM WRAS/ACS for potable water. No actuator required; operation is by differential pressure and spring force.

Description

SPRING CHECK VALVE

The valves in Series 05 are check valves with cast iron bodies, that are manufactured in accordance with the most severe product norms, and in conformity with the quality requirements of EN ISO 9001.

They are available in flanged versions, from DN 50 to DN 300, and in threaded versions, from DN 50 to DN 100.

The valves are suitable for installation in heating and conditioning plants (HVAC), for water treatment and distribution, pump stations, agricultural applications, industrial applications, fire fighting applications, for compressed air, oils and hydrocarbons.
