Tecfluid NPC – Mechanical Level Indicator with Pulleys and Counterweight

The Tecfluid NPC series is a mechanical level indicator for liquids, utilizing a float inside the tank and an external counterweight-indicator. Level changes move the float, and this motion is transmitted via cable and protected pulleys to the counterweight, providing local level indication without a glass gauge tube.

Construction Materials

Pulleys and external counterweight are PVC. Floats available in PP, PVC, PVDF, or EN 1.4404 / AISI 316L. Material selection is based on chemical compatibility, density, temperature, and mechanical strength requirements.

Outputs and Automation

Standard operation is local indication. Optional outputs:

• LNPC-APR: adjustable reed contacts, SPDT, 0.5 A / 220 VAC / 60 VA
• LNPC-AMM: adjustable microswitches, SPDT, 3 A / 220 VAC
• LNPC-AMD: inductive NAMUR switches per EN 60947-5-6
• LTE: level transmitter with reed/resistor chain, 4–20 mA output
• Options for HART, PROFIBUS, Fieldbus, Modbus RTU via suitable converter

Applications

Suitable for water treatment tanks, chemical storage, petrochemical processes, pulp and paper, and installations requiring simple local indication over large measuring ranges. Not recommended for closed high-pressure tanks unless specifically configured.

Certifications

APR/AMM contacts can be used as Simple Apparatus in intrinsically safe circuits. LTE transmitter available in ATEX Ex ia or Ex d versions, with certified flameproof head for II 2G Ex db IIC T6…T3 Gb and II 2D Ex tb IIIC marking.

Is this continuous level measurement?
As a mechanical indicator, it provides continuous local indication. With LTE, analog 4–20 mA output is available.

What maintenance is required?
Check free float movement, cable condition, pulley cleanliness, contact adjustment, and counterweight fixation.
