Fival E50W – Explosion-Proof and Watertight Luminaire for Level Gauge Applications

The Fival E50W is an auxiliary lighting unit designed for transparent level gauges in process environments where low ambient light, restricted access, or boiler house conditions impede direct level reading. The luminaire mounts onto the gauge’s light diffuser and does not serve as a pressure boundary or sealing element for the level chamber.

Electrical Specifications

  • Lamp Type: E27 incandescent
  • Voltage Versions: 12–24 V AC/DC, 125 VAC, 230 VAC
  • AC Frequency: 50/60 Hz
  • Current Draw: 90–130 mA, 15 mA, or 20 mA depending on version
  • Average Power Consumption: 2 W, 1.6 W, or 4.5 W
  • Duty Cycle: Continuous operation
  • Cable Entry: 3/4" GK
  • Glass Impact Resistance: 6 J

Construction Materials

Body and cover are manufactured from aluminium. Metallic accessories are supplied in galvanized steel, with optional stainless steel execution upon request. The front transparent section is made of thermally and mechanically resistant glass.

Certification and Hazardous Area Use

Technical documentation references ATEX INERIS 01ATEX0068X certification. Selection must be verified against zone classification, gas/dust group, temperature class, and site electrical installation requirements.

Typical Applications

Applied on transparent level gauges for steam boilers, condensate tanks, process vessels, and equipment requiring local level indication with rear or side illumination.

Maintenance Considerations

Inspection should address cable entry sealing, glass integrity, cover corrosion, supply voltage, and lamp replacement with compatible E27 types. For ATEX installations, disassembly must follow plant isolation and permit-to-work procedures.
