KITO F72.3N Pressure and Vacuum Line Valve

The KITO VD/oG-PA…VD, series F72.3N, is a line end valve designed for tank venting applications. It is primarily used on fixed roof storage tanks to limit unacceptable overpressure and vacuum conditions. The valve body is installed vertically on the tank roof, allowing product vapors to be routed from the pressure side flange either to a vapor recovery header or directly to atmosphere, depending on system requirements.

Operating Range

The F72.3N is suitable for higher set pressures compared to the low-pressure F71N variants. The pallet is spring-loaded, and operation is based on differential pressure without the need for an external actuator.

  • DN 50–150: PN 16
  • DN 200–300: PN 10
  • ASME equivalents: 2" to 12"
  • Vacuum setpoint: >60 to 415 mbar
  • Pressure setpoint: >60 to 415 mbar
  • Supplied without EC certificate and without CE marking

Materials and Sealing

Standard construction includes upper and lower bodies in cast carbon steel 1.0619. Optional stainless steel 1.4408 is available. The cover is supplied in carbon steel or stainless 1.4301/1.4571. Seat, pallet, and shaft are stainless 1.4571. Sealing is metallic with PTFE gasket; spring components are stainless steel.

Connections and Flow Data

Standard flanged connection is EN 1092-1 type B1. ASME B16.5 Class 150 RF is available on request. Flow curves are based on air at ρ=1.29 kg/m³, 273 K, with 20% accumulation above setpoint. For other gases or lower permissible overpressure, flow correction is required.

Typical Applications

  • Fixed roof tanks with higher pressure/vacuum settings
  • Product vapor collection lines
  • Storage of solvents, fuels, or volatile chemicals
  • Shell protection during filling, emptying, or thermal variation

FAQ

When is F72.3N selected?
When the required pressure or vacuum setpoint is above 60 mbar and up to 415 mbar.

Is it suitable for emission control?
Vapors can be routed to a collection header, provided installation and flow sizing are properly engineered.

Description

KITO® VD/oG-PA-… VD

-End of line device for use in pipeline-

Application as end-of-line armature, for venting apertures on tank installations. Used mainly as venting and breather device for fixed roof tanks.

Used to prevent inadmissible pressure and vacuum and to minimize unwelcome gas losses or inadmissible emissions respectively. The

housing is mounted perpendicularly on a tank roof. The product vapours can be discharged through a collective line into the atmosphere

connected to the line flange on the pressure side.
