Pressure/Vacuum Line Valve KITO F18N

The KITO VD/o3, F18N series, is a pressure compensation valve designed for fixed roof tanks and above-ground storage tanks, primarily for flammable liquid storage under inert gas blanketing. The assembly integrates overpressure relief, inert gas inlet under vacuum conditions, and a third flanged outlet for vent collection, gas balancing, or vent gas combustion.

Process Operation

The valve operates mechanically via differential pressure. On overpressure, vapors are directed to the collection header; under vacuum, inert or protective gas is admitted to the tank. No external actuator is required; setpoints are adjusted using loading weights and corresponding sealing seats.

Dimensions and Setpoints

  • DN 50 / PN 16, ASME 2" equivalent
  • DN 80 / PN 16, ASME 3" equivalent
  • DN 100 / PN 16, ASME 4" equivalent
  • Vacuum setpoints: approx. 1.7 to 120 mbar, depending on DN and weights
  • Pressure setpoints: approx. 1.7 to 110 mbar, depending on DN and weights
  • Higher setpoints available upon technical review

Materials and Sealing

Body available in carbon steel or stainless steel 1.4571. Valve seats and stems are 1.4571. Gaskets and seals: HD 3822, PTFE, VMQ-FEP, Viton, NBR, VMQ-PFA, EPDM, or metal-to-metal, selected per media, chemical compatibility, and operating temperature. For setpoints ≥100 mbar, only PTFE or metal seals are used.

Connections and Standards

Standard connection: flanged EN 1092-1 Type A. Optional: ASME B16.5 Class 150 RF. Flow curves based on air ρ=1.29 kg/m³ at 273 K, referenced at 40% accumulation above setpoint, per DIN 4119.

Typical Applications

  • Solvent and flammable liquid tanks under nitrogen blanketing
  • Vapor recovery or collection lines
  • Blanketing systems with controlled inert gas consumption
  • Tanks requiring vacuum collapse protection
  • Installations routing vent gases to combustion or treatment

FAQ

Is a pneumatic or electric actuator required?
No. Operation is self-actuated by pressure/vacuum.

Does it have CE marking?
The technical datasheet specifies versions without EC certificate and without CE marking.

Description

KITO® VD/o3-…

  • Pressure compensation valve, preferably for inflammable liquids stored under inert gas, for venting and breathing of fixed roof tanks and above-ground tanks, with lateral connection for the inert gas conduit and a third outlet flange, e. g. for connection to a collecting conduit, for gas compensation or for combustion of exhaust air.
  • The pressure valve prevents unnecessary losses of inert gas.
  • The control valve automatically controls the supply of inert gas and the pressure of the inert gas in the tank.
  • For the max. admission pressure see setting „vacuum“.
