Gefran 4T96 Process Indicator Unit
The Gefran 4T96 is a microprocessor-based temperature indicator, 96×48 mm (1/8 DIN), designed for panel door mounting. It is not a PID controller; its primary function is local indication of process value (PV) from a temperature sensor or linear process signal. The Lexan front panel provides IP65 protection, features three keys, and a red LED display with either 3 digits plus sign or 4 digits.
Measurement Inputs
Input configuration is performed via the front panel and terminal selection, without external shunt or adapter. Supported inputs include thermocouples J, K, R, S, T, B, E, N, L-GOST, U, G, D, C; RTD Pt100/JPt100 (2 or 3-wire), PTC, NTC, and linear signals (mV, V, mA).
Ranges and Accuracy
Accuracy is 0.2% f.s. ±1 digit. Sampling time is 120 ms for temperature sensors, adjustable down to 15 ms for linear inputs (with reduced resolution). Linear scale is configurable from -1999 to 9999 (4-digit) or -999 to 999 (3-digit with sign).
Configuration and Auxiliary Supply
Parameter protection via code, 32-segment linearisation, and programming via serial/PC kit are supported. Depending on model, auxiliary supply options include 24 Vdc / 50 mA, 15 Vdc / 50 mA for transmitters, or 1.2 Vdc for potentiometer supply.
Typical Applications
- Temperature indication on extrusion lines
- Rubber presses and thermal machinery
- Test benches and laboratory setups
- Food processing equipment
- Thermometry and hygrometry with appropriate transmitter
