ARI-STOBU Globe Valve with Stuffing Box
The ARI-STOBU is a globe valve designed for isolation and, where the plug configuration allows, limited flow regulation. It is used in steam, condensate, hot water, gas, and industrial fluid lines, with material selection based on pressure, temperature, and chemical compatibility.
Technical Specifications
- Available in straight or angle flow versions.
- Flanged or butt weld connections.
- Body materials: EN-JL1040, EN-JS1049, 1.0460, 1.0619+N, 1.4408, 1.7335.
- Nominal pressures PN16–PN40, with special series available up to PN63–PN160.
- Sizes up to DN500 in PN16–40 series, depending on version.
- Flanges according to DIN EN 1092-1/-2 and face-to-face lengths according to DIN EN 558.
Sealing and Plug Selection
Stem sealing is achieved with a stuffing box. In case of leakage, gradual tightening of the stuffing box is required; packing replacement is only possible with depressurized and cooled installation. For high differential pressures, a balancing plug or bypass is necessary to reduce opening torque and seat stress.
Applications
Suitable for:
- Isolation of steam branches in boiler rooms and thermal processes,
- Condensate and hot water networks,
- Auxiliary lines in chemical industry and energy,
- HVAC installations with high temperatures,
- Locations requiring manual or automated operation capability.
Automation
Basic operation is via handwheel. Options include pneumatic actuators with spring-closing or spring-opening logic, as well as electric configurations ARI-PREMIO / PREMIO-Plus for specific series and DN.
FAQ
When to choose a stuffing box version?
When periodic packing inspection is acceptable and a robust isolation valve for steam or hot fluids is needed.
What to check before ordering?
DN, PN, operating temperature, body material, medium, differential pressure, connection type, flow direction, and need for balancing plug or actuator.
