The Valvosider Through Conduit is a full-bore gate valve designed for flow isolation in liquid and gas pipelines, primarily used in oil & gas, terminals, refineries, and transmission lines where minimal flow disruption is required. The parallel slab gate design differs from wedge gate valves and is not intended for throttling.
The construction features a bolted bonnet, outside screw & yoke, rising stem, non-rising handwheel, renewable soft seats, and parallel slab gate. Design and testing adhere to API 6D, with ratings per ASME B16.34. Flanges conform to ASME B16.5 up to 24" and ASME B16.47 from 26", while BW ends comply with ASME B16.25.
Body/bonnet materials include ASTM A216 WCB and ASTM A352 LCC. Seat surfaces are A105 or A350 LF2, with options for Stellite, Monel, or Hastelloy. Sealing includes BUNA or BUNA/Viton O-rings, Viton packing, and graphite options. The seat detail allows for emergency sealant injection, useful for temporary seat sealing restoration during operation.
Available with ISO 5210 top flange, gear operator, chain wheel, electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic actuator, position indicator, limit switches, locking/interlock, stem extension, secondary seal, live-loaded packing, drain plug, by-pass, BW ends, and DIN connections. Gear reducers are recommended from 16" Class 150, 12" Class 300, 8" Class 600, and 6" for Class 900/1500.
When to choose through conduit?
For pipelines requiring full bore and low flow interference.
Soft seat or metal seated wedge?
Soft seats for tight shut-off in clean fluids/gases. Metal seated wedge for temperature or wear resistance.
Is it a throttling valve?
No. Operation should be fully open or fully closed.
