Valvosider Pressure Seal Gate Valve per ASME

The Valvosider Pressure Seal ASME is a metal-seated gate valve designed for flow isolation in high-pressure lines such as steam, superheated steam, boiler feedwater, condensates, thermal fluids, and process gases. It is intended for on/off service; throttling is not recommended as a partially open position increases erosion on seats and the flexible wedge.

Variants

  • P52: ASME Class 600, 2"–24"
  • P53: ASME Class 900, 2"–24"
  • P54: ASME Class 1500, 2"–24"
  • P55: ASME Class 2500, 2"–24"
Available pressure classes are 600, 900, 1500, and 2500 lbs.

Construction and Standards

Features include a pressure seal bonnet, outside screw & yoke, rising stem, non-rising handwheel, integral backseat, welded seats, and flexible wedge. The pressure seal bonnet uses internal pressure to enhance bonnet sealing, suitable for higher pressures compared to conventional bolted bonnets. Standards: API 600, ASME B16.34, MSS-SP-144, face-to-face ASME B16.10, flanges ASME B16.5, BW ends ASME B16.25, testing API 598 / EN 12266, marking MSS-SP 25, CE/PED and certificates EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2.

Materials and Sealing

Body/bonnet materials available in ASTM A216 WCB, A217 WC1/WC6/WC9, and A351 CF8M. Seats are hard-faced, with options for Stellite, Monel, Hastelloy, or other materials upon request. Stem sealing is achieved with graphite rings & wiper rings, while gaskets are stainless steel reinforced with graphite or metallic as required.

Operation Options

Available with ISO 5210 top flange, gear operator, chain wheel, electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic actuator, position indicator, limit switches, locking/interlock, stem extension, lantern ring, extended stuffing box, live-loaded packing, drain plug, by-pass, flanged ends, and DIN connections. Gear reduction is recommended from 8" Class 600, 6" Class 900/1500, and 4" Class 2500.

FAQ

When to choose pressure seal?
For Class 600–2500, high temperature, or frequent thermal cycles.

RF, RTJ, or BW?
RF/RTJ for ASME flanged lines, BW when a welded process connection is required.

Is a by-pass needed?
For large DN or high differential pressure, to balance before opening.
