The Valvosider Parallel Slide ASME is a metal-seated gate valve designed for flow isolation in high-pressure lines, primarily steam, superheated steam, condensate, boiler feedwater, thermal fluids, and process gases. The parallel disc design reduces wedging effects during thermal cycles compared to traditional flexible wedge designs. It is not intended for flow regulation.
Features include bolted bonnet, outside screw & yoke, rising stem, non-rising handwheel, and parallel disc. Design standards include API 600, BS 1414, ASME B16.34, ISO 10434. Face-to-face dimensions per ASME B16.10, flanges per ASME B16.5 up to 24" and ASME B16.47 from 26", with BW ends per ASME B16.25. Testing per API 598 / EN 12266, marking per MSS-SP 25, CE/PED, and certificates EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2.
Body/bonnet materials: WCB, LCB, WC6, C5, C12, CF8, CF8C, CF8M, CF3M. Seat and disc surfaces available in A105/F6A or stainless steel versions, with options for Stellite, Monel, Hastelloy, or other materials. Packing: graphite rings & wiper rings. Gasket: reinforced graphite, spiral wound graphite/RTJ, or RTJ per pressure class.
Available options include ISO 5210 top flange, gear operator, chain wheel, electric/pneumatic/hydraulic actuator, position indicator, limit switches, locking/interlock, live-loaded packing, drain plug, BW ends, DIN connections, and by-pass. The by-pass is useful for large DN or high ΔP to balance pressure before opening.
When to choose parallel slide?
For high-pressure steam and thermal cycles where wedging needs to be minimized.
RF, RTJ, or BW?
RF for standard lines, RTJ for high classes, BW when a welded process connection is required.
Used for throttling?
No. Partially open positions wear discs and seats.
