Float Valves - Series KSV - KSV180 | Berluto

Berluto KSV 180 / KSV 80 Float Valve

The KSV180 corresponds to the stainless steel version KSV 80 in the KSV series. It is a mechanical float valve with a control piston, designed for tank filling and local level control without an electric actuator. Level adjustment is achieved by setting the float position on the arm and by adjusting the arm angle.

Technical Data

  • Nominal sizes: DN 10 to DN 65
  • Threaded connection: G 3/8" to G 2 1/2", ISO 228
  • Max operating pressure: 12 bar
  • Kvs: 2.9 to 24 m³/h
  • Temperature: 0 to 190 °C with FKM seals
  • Body: stainless steel 1.4408
  • Wetted parts and control piston: stainless steel 1.4404
  • Float arm: stainless steel 1.4571

Media and Application Limits

KSV 80 is suitable for aggressive water and chemical media, provided materials 1.4408/1.4404/1.4571 and FKM seals are compatible. With HDPE or copper floats, max temperature is limited to 80 °C; for higher temperatures, a stainless steel float is required.

Difference from KSV 10

KSV 10 is made from red brass for neutral, non-sticky liquids and covers DN 15–DN 25. KSV 80 covers DN 10–DN 65, features stainless steel construction, and is selected when the medium or installation environment requires enhanced corrosion resistance.

Maintenance and Selection

Seat, nozzles, and seals are replaceable. The complete control piston can be removed for inspection by loosening a single screw, which is useful for tanks with deposits or for preventive leakage checks. DN selection is based on required filling flow, available pressure, and the flow diagram for water at 20 °C.

Applications

  • industrial or treated water tanks
  • filling tanks with corrosive or chemically affected liquids
  • systems without automated level control
  • installations requiring stainless steel threaded float valves

FAQ

Is an actuator required?
No. Operation is mechanical via float and control piston.

Are certifications available?
CE/PED, DVGW, and DIN EN ISO 9001 are listed as available certifications or manufacturer approvals. Applicability must be confirmed per code and use case.

Description

KSV 80

Float valves of this series are ideal for filling medium to large storage tanks or for level control. A desired liquid level can be precisely adjusted by moving the float. The valves have a high flow rate and are particularly suitable for use with aggressive waters or other aggressive liquids.

Nominal size DN 10 up to DN 65

Inlet pressure up to 12 bar

Kvs-value 2,9 - 24 m³/h

Temperature range up to 190°C

Certificates

CE-certification according to the European Pressure Equipment Directive is mandatory for numerous products and delivery areas. Other certificates, however, are certificates of individual quality, such as DVGW and DIN EN ISO 9001, which stands for the internal quality management system  with its extensive functional and performance checks. The particularly strict regulations of the national rules and regulations guarantee the highest possible safety - especially when it comes to the reliability in your plant.
