KITO H 26.1 N In-line Deflagration Flame Arrester

The KITO H 26.1 N is an in-line deflagration flame arrester for vapor/air and gas/air pipelines, primarily used on lines to thermal incineration plants. Technical data specifies a maximum operating pressure of 1.6 bar abs. and temperature up to 200 °C.

Application Scope

Installed in lines where ignition from a burner, oxidizer, or other source must not propagate back to the process installation.

Typical applications:

  • VOC vent lines to thermal oxidation
  • tank venting systems
  • combustion or treatment lines for flammable vapors
  • chemical, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical units

Selection Limits

Certified for explosion group IIA substances with MESG > 0.9 mm. Maximum pipe length from arrester to ignition source: < 50 × D. Installation allowed in pipelines with nominal diameter equal to or less than the device DN.

Engineering note: Although product description mentions unidirectional operation, KITO datasheet states bi-directional working in pipes. Installation orientation and protection scenario must be confirmed by certificate and P&ID.

FAQ

When is PT100 required?
When the process design specifies emergency function, e.g. flow shutdown or inerting in case of stabilized combustion.

Which standard applies?
Type examination certificate per EN ISO 16852 and CE marking according to ATEX 2014/34/EU.

Description

KITO® RV/N-1200/600-IIA-1.6

KITO® RV/N-1200/600-IIA-1.6-T (-TT)

  • Intermediate armature, mainly installed as in-line deflagration flame arrester in pipes to thermal incineration plants for vapor/air and air/gas mixtures.
  • Bi-directionally working in pipes, whereby an operating pressure of 1.6 bar abs. and an operating temperature of 200 °C must not be exceeded.
  • Approved for all substances of the explosion group IIA with a MESG > 0.9 mm.
  • The maximum length of the pipe from the KITO® flame arrester to the ignition source is limited (< 50 x D).
  • It is only allowed to install the device in pipes with nominal widths ≤ than the nominal width of the armature (DN).
  • The thermal sensor serves to trigger an emergency function, e.g. shutting off or inerting the gas flow if a stabilized burning occurs at the KITO® flame arrester.
