Genebre 2833 – EPDM Double Arch Expansion Joint

The Genebre 2833 is a flanged expansion joint designed for water pipelines and auxiliary industrial networks. The double arch configuration increases movement absorption compared to single arch types, supporting installation in pump assemblies, HVAC systems, and piping subject to vibration or thermal expansion. The body is constructed from EPDM reinforced with nylon, with flanges and retaining rings in galvanized carbon steel.

Permissible Movements

Depending on size, the 2833 allows axial compression of 30–50 mm, axial elongation of 20–35 mm, lateral deflection of 30–45 mm, and angular deflection of 15° or 30°. Values must be verified with pipe anchors, guides, and actual pressure loads.

Media and Applications

Suitable for water, heating/cooling circuits, recirculation lines, and aqueous networks compatible with EPDM. Not recommended for mineral oils, fuels, or hydrocarbons without chemical compatibility verification.

Installation and Sealing

No additional flange gasket is required; the elastomeric body provides the sealing surface. Bolts should be tightened crosswise, gradually, and evenly. For pumps, installation is recommended at 1–1.5 × DN from the nozzle.

Maintenance / FAQ

Actuator option: None. This is a passive piping component.

Periodic checks: Inspect for bolt loosening, corrosion, leakage, deformation, or elastomer wear. Replace the unit if damaged. Flange torque: 50 Nm up to 4”, 60 Nm for 5”–6”, 80 Nm for 8”–14”.
