Genebre 2835AE Axial Expansion Joints

Genebre 2835AE are metallic axial expansion compensators with ANSI B16.5 Class 150 flanges and an internal flow liner. Designed for axial compensation of thermal pipe movements and reduction of transmitted vibration in metallic piping systems compatible with stainless AISI 304 / 1.4301.

Construction

• Sizes: DN50–DN200, 2"–8".
• Bellow and internal liner: stainless steel 1.4301.
• Flanges and pipe ends: carbon steel with heat-resistant coating.
• Travel limit rods for protection against over-compression or over-extension.
• Unidirectional flow; install according to body arrow.

Operating Limits

Maximum working pressure: 19 bar. Temperature range: -40 °C to +300 °C. Pressure–temperature curve indicates reduced allowable pressure at elevated temperatures; selection must not rely solely on ANSI 150 rating.

Axial Movement

Permissible movement depends on operating cycles:

• for ≥10,000 cycles: approx. ±6 to ±12 mm,
• for 1,000 cycles: up to ±26 mm at DN200,
• axial stiffness: 28–76 kgf/mm,
• effective area: 27.3–366.4 cm².

Applications

Suitable for HVAC, hot water, auxiliary industrial circuits, compatible liquids and gases where piping class requires ANSI Class 150 flanges. For chlorinated or corrosive media, verify compatibility with AISI 304.

Difference from 2835E

2835AE is for flanged connections to ANSI B16.5 Class 150. 2835E is the equivalent for EN 1092 PN16 flanges. Selection is based on DN, pressure, temperature, axial travel, cycles, anchors, guides, and flow direction.

No. Operates passively via thermal pipe movement.

What is checked during maintenance?
Flange tightness, condition of limit rods, signs of bellow fatigue, guide alignment, and possible material accumulation in the internal liner.
