Brandoni D6 – Dual Plate Wafer Check Valve

The Brandoni D6 is a dual plate check valve designed for installation between flanges (wafer type). The two plates open under differential flow pressure and are returned by stainless steel springs when flow decreases or reverse pressure occurs. No actuator is required; operation is fully mechanical.

Variants

D6.021: Body EN-GJL-250, discs AISI 316, seat EPDM.
D6.031: Body EN-GJL-250, discs EN-GJS-400, seat EPDM.
D6.622: Body stainless ASTM A351 CF8M, discs stainless, seat FKM/Viton.

Pressure, Temperature, Hydraulic Data

Range covers DN40–DN600 with wafer connection for EN flanges. Nominal pressure rating is PN10 / PN16. Operating temperature: -10 to +100°C for D6.021/D6.031, -20 to +150°C for D6.622. Opening pressure and minimum backpressure: 0.1 bar. Kv values range from 41 to 19,919 m³/h, depending on DN.

Media and Limitations

D6.0 series is used in HVAC, water treatment and distribution, pump stations, and general industrial processes. D6.6 (CF8M) is also considered for chemical applications, subject to FKM and stainless steel compatibility. Not suitable for steam. For hazardous gases, technical documentation states NO.

Installation

In horizontal piping, the disc shaft must be vertical. In vertical downward flow, springs do not guarantee full closure without pressure. Not recommended for pulsating flow or installation immediately upstream of pumps, elbows, or areas with high turbulence.

The valves in series D6 are dual-plate wafer check valves, which are manufactured in accordance with the most severe product norms, and in conformity with the quality requirements of EN ISO 9001.They are available in the following versions: D6.0 > with cast iron body, suitable for heating and conditioning (HVAC), water treatment and distribution, pumping stations and industrial applications.

D6.6 > in stainless steel CF8M, suitable also for chemical plants.
