Gefran 650 Controller – Programmer

The Gefran 650 is a 48×48 mm (1/16 DIN) PID temperature controller with 80 mm depth and a removable front panel for replacement from the front of the control cabinet. It is used in local thermal process loops requiring PID, on/off, ramp/hold profiles, or open/close motorized valve control. The device is suitable for industrial environments where precise temperature regulation and process sequencing are required.

Inputs and Measurement

Primary input supports thermocouples J, K, R, S, T, C, D, RTD Pt100/JPt100, and linear signals 0–60 mV, 0–1 V, 0–5 V, 0–10 V, 0/4–20 mA. Scaling is configurable from -1999 to 9999, with sampling intervals of 60 or 120 ms. Additional inputs include remote setpoint and up to two CT 50 mAac inputs for load monitoring, supporting process diagnostics and heater integrity checks.

Outputs and Control Functions

Output options: relay 5 A / 250 Vac, logic 24 Vdc for SSR, triac 75–264 Vac / 1 A, continuous 4–20 mA, and analog retransmission 0–10 V or 0/4–20 mA (variant dependent). Supports single-loop PID, heat/cool, on/off, continuous or time-proportional output, 4 alarms, LBA, HB, and SSR alarm. Suitable for direct control of contactors, SSRs, or analog actuators in process applications.

Process Programming

Setpoint programmer allows up to 4 programs with 12 steps each, including ramp time, hold time, consents, and event outputs. Sixteen function blocks (AND/OR/timer) enable basic machine logic without additional relays or small PLCs. Communication via isolated RS485 Modbus RTU for integration with SCADA or PLC systems.

Three types of timers let you set delay times before activating the control, hold times on the setpoint value, and timed changes of programmed setpoints.

Models with twelve ramp and hold steps, groupable in four programs, with enable inputs and event outputs, are available for applications with setpoint profiles.

Valve Positioner
