Pump trap - PPA14 | ADCA

ADCA ADCAMat PPA14 Condensate Pump

The PPA14 is a mechanical pressure-powered condensate pump designed for transferring hot steam condensate, oils, and non-hazardous liquids to higher levels or return lines with backpressure. It is not a steam trap pump; in stall applications, it operates with a separate steam trap.

Operation

Liquid enters by gravity through a check valve. The float activates the motive medium inlet valve and closes the vent. Pressure in the body increases as needed to overcome total backpressure, displacing the liquid through the outlet.

Technical Specifications

  • Sizes: DN 50 x 50 and DN 80 x 50
  • Versions: PPA14S carbon steel, PPA14SS stainless steel
  • Connections: EN 1092-1 PN 16, ASME B16.5 Class 150, ISO 7 Rp
  • Motive medium: saturated steam, compressed air, nitrogen, or other gases
  • Motive pressure: 1–10 bar
  • Operating temperature: 0–185°C
  • Displacement per cycle: 25 L
  • Capacity: up to 6290 kg/h with 300 mm filling head, depending on backpressure and motive pressure

Materials and Sealing

Internal components are stainless steel, springs are Inconel, and gaskets are stainless/graphite. Check valves are A351 CF8M / 1.4408. CE marking applies to Group 2 fluids per PED, PN 16, category 3.

Selection and Installation

Sizing requires condensate load, motive pressure, total backpressure, elevation lift, line losses, and available filling head. Install horizontally with receiver, strainer, isolation valves, check valves, and unobstructed vent line with self-drainage to the receiver.

FAQ

When is the PPA14 selected?
When condensate return is needed without an electric pump and without NPSH limitations.

Are monitoring options available?
Yes, level indication and cycle counter are available for operation control and flow estimation.
