ADCA EH – Exhaust Head for Open Vent Lines

The ADCA EH exhaust head is installed at the end of vertical vent or blowdown lines from blowdown vessels, feedwater tanks, and auxiliary steam vessels. Its primary function is to separate moisture from the outgoing steam, reduce discharge velocity, and ensure safe drainage of retained condensate within the body.

Technical Specifications

  • Sizes: 1" to 10" / DN25 to DN250
  • Connections: EN 1092-1 PN16 or ASME B16.5 Class 150
  • Maximum allowable pressure: 0.5 bar
  • Maximum allowable temperature: 300°C
  • Minimum operating temperature: -10°C
  • Design code: AD-Merkblatt
  • Installation: vertical orientation

Material Variants

  • EH/S: carbon steel body
  • EH/SH: carbon steel body with zinc thermal spray and paint
  • EH/SS: stainless steel construction

Internal separation elements are stainless steel. EH/S and EH/SH variants use materials such as P235GH, P265GH, P250GH, and ASTM A105. The EH/SS version uses AISI 316 / 1.4401 for main components.

Installation Guidelines

Install the exhaust head at the end of an open vertical vent line. The drain connection must discharge to a safe location to prevent condensate from posing risks to personnel, insulation, or steel structures. Installation on safety valve outlets is not recommended.

Typical Applications

  • Vents from blowdown vessels
  • Feedwater tank venting
  • Flash steam vent lines
  • Open vertical low-pressure steam discharges

Maintenance Considerations

Inspection should address body corrosion, drain blockage, coating or galvanizing condition, mechanical loads on the flange, and secure routing of the drain line. For wet steam or outdoor installations, EH/SH or EH/SS variants are preferred to minimize external corrosion risk.
