ADCA BFT is a horizontal feedwater storage tank for steam boiler systems. It collects softened make-up water and returned condensate, providing a buffer volume for feedwater pumps and ensuring stable suction conditions. The tank is designed for industrial steam applications where consistent feedwater supply and process reliability are required.
The tank does not replace a deaerator but can be combined with an ADG or TDG dome to reduce O₂ and CO₂ content prior to boiler entry. In atmospheric systems, provisions can be made for water preheating, chemical dosing, and venting. The tank supports process control by stabilizing feedwater parameters.
Standard tank configuration includes nozzles for feedwater pumps, anti-vortex, drain, overflow, steam heating, chemical dosing, condensate return, softened water inlet, vent, recirculation, temperature indication, level indication, level controller, inspection manhole, vacuum valve, and safety valve for pressurized arrangements.
Proper sizing requires make-up water flow, condensate temperature, maximum steam demand, required storage time, available NPSH for pumps, steam heating pressure, and need for ADG/TDG dome integration.
Standard installation is horizontal; vertical versions available on request. Insulation is recommended post-installation. Drainage should discharge to BEX or suitable cooling system below tank level. Key inspection points: corrosion, water level, overflow, recirculation operation, water temperature, and internal surface cleanliness.
