ADCA FCD – Flash Steam Condensing Head

ADCA FCD is a mixing and condensing head for secondary steam, designed for boiler feedwater tanks. It is applied where flash steam from vent lines or TDS recovery systems must be absorbed into make-up water, rather than vented to atmosphere.

Operation

The unit receives cold make-up water, condensate return, recirculated feedwater, and optionally flash steam from TDS recovery. Mixing occurs within an assembly featuring internal baffles, a spray nozzle, and a dip tube, ensuring steam is condensed directly into the tank water with controlled noise and minimal steam release.

Technical Specifications

  • Models: FCD150, FCD200, FCD250, FCD300, FCD400
  • Installation: vertical, top-mounted on tank
  • Material (head, dip tube, nozzle, connections): stainless steel
  • Gaskets: C4430
  • Connections: female thread ISO 7 Rp or NPT, flanges EN 1092-1 or ASME
  • Max allowable pressure: 0.5 bar
  • Max allowable temperature: 120°C
  • Min operating temperature: -10°C
  • Design code: AD-Merkblatt

Sizing Selection

Selection table matches maximum boiler steam output to model: 5,000 kg/h for FCD150, 10,000 kg/h for FCD200, 20,000 kg/h for FCD250, 30,000 kg/h for FCD300, 50,000 kg/h for FCD400. Dip tube length is determined by tank design.

Applications

Used in feedwater tanks, TDS/blowdown heat recovery, condensate return systems, and installations requiring reduction of flash steam venting.

Installation Notes

Connections must comply with supply drawings. Flange and connecting pipe to tank are not included in standard FCD body and must be specified in the mechanical design.
