ARI-FABA®-Supra C — Bellows Seal Valve for Chemical and Industrial Processes

The ARI-FABA®-Supra C is a manually operated globe stop valve with a metallic bellows, designed for isolation and limited flow regulation in steam lines, hot water, thermal oil, gases, and process liquids. The C version corresponds to the Chemical version: the bellows is arranged for flushing by the medium, and the standard plug is a V-port with marginal seat.

Technical Configuration

  • Body: 1.0619+N / GP240GH+N, with available versions 1.0460 and 1.4408.
  • Bellows and stem: 1.4571.
  • Secondary sealing: pure graphite.
  • Pressure classes: PN25 / PN40, depending on DN and material.
  • Sizes: DN15–DN400 in main flanged versions.
  • Connections: DIN flanges or butt weld ends.
  • Face-to-face: EN 558, series 1.

Selection and Operational Limits

Selection should not be based solely on pipe diameter. Verification of Kvs, differential pressure, temperature, body material, and medium compatibility is required. For the straight flanged version Supra C 146, Kvs values range from 4.4 to 2080 m³/h, depending on DN. High differential pressures require a balancing plug; indicative from ΔP over 25 bar at DN125, 14 bar at DN200, and 6 bar at DN300.

Applications

Suitable for:

  • steam and condensates,
  • auxiliary networks in chemical plants,
  • thermal circuits,
  • process water,
  • lines where stem leakage must be minimized.

In pulsating or highly turbulent flow after pumps, bends, or branches, installation guidelines suggest considering the Supra I version, as the bellows is located outside the main flow path.

Standards and Certifications

Compliance with EN ISO 15848-1 / TA-Luft, TÜV Test No. TA 07 2016 C04, EN 13709, TRB 801 Annex II No.45, and PED 2014/68/EU is noted.

FAQ

When to choose Supra C over Supra I?
When a chemical version with flushed bellows and V-port plug is required.

Is it a control valve?
It is primarily a stop valve. Throttling use requires checking ΔP, noise, seat erosion, and Kvs.

What should be checked before startup?
Material, pressure, temperature, flow direction, and cleanliness of piping from shavings or welding residues.
