ARI-FABA®-Plus ANSI — Bellows Sealed Isolation Valve
The ARI-FABA®-Plus ANSI is a globe stop valve featuring a dual metallic bellows and secondary graphite packing to minimize stem leakage. It is applicable in steam lines, gases, hot water, thermal oil, process water, vacuum, and ammonia systems.
Connection Types and Classes

- Fig. 049: NPT/BSP or socket weld, Class 300, body SA105, DN15–DN50 / NPS 1/2"–2".
- Flanges per ASME/ANSI B16.5, face-to-face per ANSI B16.10, socket weld per ASME/ANSI B16.11.
Operational Conditions
For SA216WCB / SA105, pressure-temperature ratings are per ANSI: Class 150 from 19.6 bar at -29…38°C to 5.5 bar at 427°C; Class 300 from 51.1 bar to 28.3 bar within the same temperature range. For soft seal PTFE + 25% carbon, max operating temperature is 200°C.
Valve Selection
Selection is based on Class, DN/NPS, Kvs, differential pressure, temperature, and media compatibility. In flanged versions, Kvs values range approximately from 4.8 to 1090 m³/h, depending on Class and diameter. High ΔP requires a balancing plug: typically above 21 bar for DN150, 14 bar for DN200, and 9 bar for DN250.
Sealing and Maintenance
The bellows is SA240 Gr.316Ti, with secondary sealing in pure graphite. Standard plug is metal-seated with marginal seat; options include regulating plug and soft seal. Primarily intended for isolation, not continuous throttling without permissible ΔP control.
FAQ
When to choose ANSI over PN version?
When the installation's piping specification is based on ASME/ANSI Class 150 or 300.
Is there emissions certification?
Yes, compliance with EN ISO 15848-1 / TA-Luft and TÜV Test No. TA 07 2016 C04 is noted.
Can it be automated?
Automation mainly applies to ARI-FABA®-Supra versions with pneumatic ARI-FA, not all FABA-Plus configurations.
