The ARI-FABA®-Plus is a manually operated isolation valve featuring a dual metallic bellows seal and secondary graphite packing. It is utilized where shaft leakage must be minimized in steam, hot water, thermal oil, gas, and industrial fluid networks.
Available in PN16, PN25, and PN40 classes, with DN depending on material and version. Selection should consider pressure, temperature, differential pressure, media compatibility, and required Kvs. High differential pressures require a balancing plug; for example, DN125 has a ΔP limit of 25 bar, while DN200 is 14 bar.
The 1.4571 bellows isolates the stem from the medium. The graphite packing acts as secondary security in case of bellows failure. Options include metal-seated plugs, stellited surfaces, soft seat PTFE + 25% carbon up to 200°C, throttling plug, and non-return plug.
Versions comply with EN 13709, EN 13789, EN ISO 15848-1 / TA-Luft, TÜV Test No. TA 07 2016 C04, and specific versions with EN-JS1049, DIN DVGW type approval.

When is a bellows seal chosen over a simple packing?
When stem leakage is unacceptable for energy, safety, or emissions reasons.
Can it be used for throttling?
Primarily an isolation valve. Throttling requires a suitable throttling plug and permissible ΔP control.
What if there is seat leakage?
Check for foreign particles, deposits, excessive ΔP, and potential need for a balancing plug or upstream filter.
