Sirca S40 Series Two-Piece Ball Valve
The Sirca S40 is a two-piece, full-bore threaded ball valve for bidirectional on/off isolation of water and compressed air. Its compact brass construction is intended for utility piping, HVAC circuits and general industrial services. The valve should normally operate fully open or fully closed rather than in continuous throttling duty.
Technical Data
- Size range: 1/4″–4″
- Threaded ends: BSP according to ISO 228-1
- Operating temperature: −20 to +120 °C
- Rotation: 90°
- Flow direction: bidirectional
- Full-bore construction
- Actuator mounting: DIN/ISO 5211 on S40 version
Pressure rating depends on size:
- PN40: 1/4″–1″
- PN32: 1 1/4″
- PN30: 1 1/2″–2 1/2″
- PN25: 3″–4″
Allowable pressure decreases above approximately 90 °C according to the manufacturer’s pressure–temperature diagram.
Materials and Sealing
The body, closure and ball are manufactured from chrome-plated brass. The stem is brass, with PTFE seats and FKM sealing O-rings. The anti-blowout stem provides mechanical retention under internal pressure, while Chevron-type stem sealing limits external leakage.
Versions and Actuation
The S40 includes an ISO 5211 mounting pad for pneumatic or electric actuation. The S40M is the manual version without an actuator mounting pad.
Pneumatic configurations are available with double-acting or spring-return actuators and a NAMUR interface for solenoid-valve installation. Actuator sizing data are based on a minimum air supply of 5.5 bar and a maximum valve differential pressure of 16 bar.
Applications
Typical media include water, compressed air and clean, non-abrasive liquids compatible with brass, PTFE and FKM.
Compliance
The S40 series is covered by PED 2014/68/EU. ATEX versions are classified as Group II, Category 2 for gas Zones 1/2 and dust Zones 21/22, subject to the declared installation conditions.
